The A-Select Authentication System (in short A-Select) is an open source innovative system for authentication of users in a Web environment. A-Select is a framework where users can be authenticated by several means with Authentication Service Providers (AuthSP's).
Several AuthSP's have been implemented already and are used in pilot projects. Among them, very strong AuthSP's like ABN AMRO Internet Banking, Rabobank Internet banking and SURFkey Bank/SMS (former Niegefoon/Mob@c) are in use in pilot projects. But also more commonly used AuthSP's are implemented like Radius and LDAP. A-Select will constantly be extended with more (new) AuthSP's.

A-Select is an open source project that originally has been designed and implemented by Alfa & Ariss .


A-Select is part of the National Science Foundation Middleware Initiative (NMI) EDIT software release.
